Glass railings improve the safety of stairways for example in families with kids, as movement in the stairway is easily noticeable and possibly dangerous situations can be avoided. For outdoors
Glass railings can offer terraces and landings an impressive look and shelter according to the look of the house. Modern feel and the right kind of coloring guarantee a distinguished look.
Safety regulations
Glass railings always need to be made from safety glass, either tempered, laminated, or tempered and laminated glass. The thickness and structure of the glass depend on the method of attachment, the size of glazing, the height of possible drop, and the desired appearance.
A railing has to be built when the height of drop exceeds 500 mm and there is a risk of falling or misstep. The height of the railing depends on the height of drop and the purpose of use of the space. The protective part of the railing has to be at least 700 mm high. A cube sized 200 mm maximum can go through the top and the protective part of the railing. A cube sized 60 mm maximum can go through the bottom of the protective part of the railing and the step or the landing.
