Kimmelux Fire-resistant glass
Fire-resistant glass is available in several different protection levels. Protection is measured both by duration (30, 60, 90, 120 or 180 minutes) and by whether the glass maintains its integrity and prevents the transfer of heat, or insulation. In some solutions, the glass provides integrity protection only, while in others it provides both integrity and insulation.
Our range includes five different types of fire-resistant glass: Pyroswiss, Vetroflam, Contraflam Lite, Contraflam and Contraflam Structure. The table below shows the classifications of the fire-resistant glass products.

SGG PYROSWISS
SGG Pyroswiss is toughened E 30 class fire-resistant glass that prevents the spread of flames and smoke gases and remains clear in a fire. The glass is mechanically durable and suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Available versions:
- Single glass: clear, coloured, acid-etched, patterned and silk-screen printed. Thicknesses 6–12 mm, special thicknesses 15–25 mm.
- Laminated: 12.76 mm structure (2 panes + interlayer), clear or with an opal interlayer. For applications requiring improved safety and sound insulation.
- Insulation glass: double and triple insulating glass units. Can be combined with energy-efficient, safety and sound-insulating glass.

- large glass surfaces (up to > 5 m²)
- steel, timber and aluminium profiles
- vertical, inclined and horizontal structures

SGG VETROFLAM
SGG Vetroflam is toughened, coated EW 30–EW 60 class fire-resistant glass that effectively limits the transmission of heat radiation. The glass is particularly suitable for external applications and situations where better radiation protection than E-class glass is required.
Available versions:
- Laminated: 12,76 mm structure (2 × 6 mm Vetroflam + 0,76 mm PVB). For applications requiring improved personal safety and higher EW classes (EW 30–60).
- Insulating glass: most commonly double insulating glass units, with a U-value of up to 1.4 W/m²K. Available in standard configurations: Vetroflam N 2K 4–12 (E 30/EW) and Vetroflam 2K 6–8 (EW 30–60).

- external glazing and applications where lower heat radiation transmission is required

SGG CONTRAFLAM LITE
SGG Contraflam Lite is a gel-laminated fire-resistant safety glass consisting of two panes of toughened glass with a fire-resistant layer between them. In very large glass sizes, the glass meets the requirements of classes EW 60–EW 120 and EI 15.
Available versions:
- Single panes: clear basic version and several decorative options (silk-screen printing, patterned glass, coloured glass). Suitable for indoor use, including in inclined and horizontal structures.
- Insulating glass:: can be combined into double insulating glass units for external use. The fire-resistant glass is always placed on the warm side; it can be combined with low-emissivity and solar-control glass.

- internal compartmentation structures
- external use as a double insulating glass unit (fire-resistant glass on the inner surface of the warm side)
- large glass sizes (up to 2200 × 3800 mm)
- steel and timber structures
- decorative fire-resistant glass solutions

SGG CONTRAFLAM
SGG Contraflam is gel-laminated EI class fire-resistant safety glass consisting of two or more panes of toughened glass with fire-resistant layers between them. The glass enables extremely large sizes, excellent mechanical durability and extensive adaptability.
Available versions:
- Single panes: clear basic versions and a wide range of special types, including decorative, technical and curved glass. Suitable for indoor use in vertical, inclined and horizontal structures.
- Insulating glass: can be combined into double insulating glass units for external use. Enables energy efficiency, solar control, burglar resistance and other technical properties. The fire-resistant glass is always placed on the warm side.

- internal and external compartmentation structures (outdoors always as an insulating glass unit)
- extremely large glass sizes (tested up to 2200 × 3200 mm)
- steel, timber and aluminium profiles
- decorative and project-specific bespoke fire-resistant glass solutions

SGG CONTRAFLAM STRUCTURE
SGG Contraflam Structure is a frameless fire-resistant glass system in which EI-class Contraflam glass units are joined together without vertical profiles. There is only a narrow silicone joint between the panes, enabling a continuous, semi-structural glass surface. Steel, aluminium or timber systems can be used as horizontal profiles.

- Compatibility: can be combined with other special glass types, such as energy-efficient glass, UV protection and solar-control glass. Suitable for both internal and external use in accordance with the system manufacturer’s instructions.
